Due to the duration of Winter Storm Juno and continuing hazardous road conditions, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will continue to suspend all service throughout Tuesday, January 27, 2015.

Service will resume as soon as conditions are safe for RIPTA vehicles to travel and RIPTA will announce when service is reinstated. Authority officials are working to determine which regular routes will be able to resume on Wednesday, weather permitting. RIPTA passengers should anticipate delays on all routes after the storm is over due to snow accumulation and other winter weather conditions.

In addition, RIPTA officials are preparing to restore RIde program service for critical care medical appointments on Wednesday morning, January 28, 2015. The RIde program reservation line (401-461-9760) is scheduled to reopen at Wednesday at 6 a.m.

RIPTA suspended all service late Monday night as the storm began. The authority’s main concern remains the safety of its passengers, its drivers and the public. Officials at RIPTA continue to monitor the storm and assess road conditions. The authority is working in concert with Governor Raimondo’s office, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) and the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA).

Customers are advised to use extra caution at bus stops, as conditions may slippery.
