Summer Service Changes
June 21, 2008
Effective June 21, 2008, RIPTA will implement its annual summer service changes. These changes are MINOR and include rescheduled trip times, seasonal service startups, the restructuring of Rte. #66 (Providence/URI) and other changes for the routes listed here. Please consult new schedules.
Beach Bus 7-day-a-week express buses from Woonsocket Depot, Cranston City Hall, Central Falls (400 Dexter Street), Pawtucket Transit Center and North Providence (Tim Horton's) run to South County Beaches from July 1 through August 11. Fare is the regular bus fare. Please see Rte. #66 (URI/Galilee) schedule for details.
1 Eddy/Gaspee The weekday 4:49 pm Inbound Keep Eddy Moving trip on this route to Rte. #54 discontinued. The 6:06 am Inbound trip on Saturday discontinued.
3 Warwick Avenue Weekday service now rescheduled. Please consult new schedule for details.
10 North Scituate Route number now changed to 90 S. Please refer to the Park n' Ride schedule. Service remains the same.
14 Wickford/Narragansett/Newport The weekday 4:43 pm Inbound trip is now at 4:50 pm; the 6:15 pm Outbound trip is now 6:20 pm.
19 Plainfield/Westminster The 6:05 am Outbound trip on Saturday discontinued.
20 Elmwood /Auburn/Airport On Saturdays, the 5:22 am Inbound trip and the 5:40 am Outbound trip now discontinued.
26 Atwells/RI College Weekday service now rescheduled, continuing to travel through-city to the Rte. #40 Butler/Elmgrove Line. Some trips now travel Promenade Street & Kinsley Avenue. Please consult new schedule. for details.
40 Butler/Elmgrove This route now travels on weekdays via Elmgrove Avenue in both directions. Every other trip now serves Swan Point. Service rescheduled, continuing to travel through-city to the Rte. #26 Atwells/RI College Line. Please consult new schedule.
50 Douglas Avenue The 6:05 am Outbound trip on Saturday discontinued.
60 Providence/Newport The 6:05 pm weekday Inbound trip is no longer an express. The 3:45 pm Outbound is now 3:40 pm, the 5:26 pm Inbound is 5:15 pm, the 5: 45 pm inbound is 5: 40 pm and the 6:15 pm Inbound is 6: 20 pm. Please consult new schedule.
61 Beach (Summer only) 7-day-a-week service to Easton's Beach and Second Beach now resumes and continues through August 30th. Please consult new schedule for details.
62 Thames/Fort Adams 7-day-a-week service to Fort Adams and Green Apartments resumes and continues through August 30. Please consult new schedule for details.
64 Newport/URI The weekday 8:00 pm Inbound express trip now leaves at 8: 05 pm.
66 URI/Galilee 7-day-a-week service resumes from Kennedy Plaza, the Park n' Ride lot at Rtes 2 & 102, and the Wakefield Mall to South County Beaches. Please consult schedule for details.
67 Bellevue/Mansions/Salve Regina University 7-day-a-week service to southern end of Bellevue Avenue resumes for Summer 2008. From June 21 through August 30 this route extended to the Cliff Walk. Please consult new schedule for details.
72 Weeden/Central Falls 7-day-a-week service now rescheduled. Please consult new schedule for details.
76 Central Avenue The 7-day-a-week Inbound route changed to provide front-door service to Tolman High School. Please consult new schedule.
77 Benefit/Broadway The 7:19 am Inbound trip on Sunday discontinued.
