March 1, 2015

Press Releases

With a winter storm expected to bring 4 to 8 inches of snow to the state Sunday night through Monday morning, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is advising passengers to please be prepared for delays and detours on Monday, March 2, 2015.

Passengers are encouraged to check www.RIPTA.com for updates throughout the day. Riders may expect some delays on all routes due to weather conditions and are advised to use extreme caution at bus stops due to decreased visibility and slippery conditions.

Passengers are strongly advised to monitor news reports, check www.RIPTA.com and RIPTA’s social media outlets (Facebook @RideRIPTA, Twitter @RIPTA_RI) for service advisory updates. RIPTA urges passengers to sign up for electronic News Updates at http://www.ripta.com/detours-news; RIPTA will e-mail system disruption notices to passengers on this distribution list.
