RIPTA TO DETOUR ROUTE 1 (EDDY/HOPE/BENEFIT) TO ACCOMMODATE THAYER STREET HOLIDAY STROLL ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2014

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) to accommodate the Thayer Street Holiday Stroll. The detour will be in effect beginning at 11:00am on Sunday, December 14, 2014 until 4:30pm that afternoon. For more information on the stroll, visit http://www.thayerstreetdistrict.com.

The following detour will be in effect on Sunday, December 14, 2014:

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit):

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Hope and Thayer Streets, continue on Hope Street, right onto Angell Street, left onto Thayer Street and then resume regular route.

Northbound trips will travel the regular route.

RIPTA, the State’s Mobility Manager, operates over 3,000 daily bus trips on 54 bus routes throughout the state. Last year, we provided 20.5 million rides. RIPTA also offers passenger van “Flex” services in areas not served by fixed-route bus service.
