RIPTA TO TEMPORARILY RELOCATE BUS STOP TO ACCOMMODATE RHODE ISLAND MALL CONSTRUCTION

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will temporarily relocate the bus stop across from Sears at the Rhode Island Mall to accommodate construction plans effective Monday, March 31, 2014.  Route 21 (Reservoir/Garden City) and Route 29 (Kent County) will be affected.  Passengers will be picked up and dropped off at the Wendy’s sign in the mall parking lot.   

The following detours will be in effect beginning Monday, March 31, 2014 until further notice: 

ROUTE 21 (Reservoir/Garden City)

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the Rhode Island Mall entrance, take the first right after the Chuck E. Cheese, take a left, travel to the temporary bus stop at the Wendy’s sign, and then resume regular route. 

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the Rhode Island Mall entrance, take the first right after the Chuck E. Cheese, take a left, travel to the temporary bus stop at the Wendy’s sign, and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 29 (Kent County)

Westbound trips will travel the regular route to Rte. 113, right onto Rte. 2 North, right at the entrance into the Rhode Island Mall, take the first right after the Chuck E. Cheese, take a left, travel to the temporary bus stop at the Wendy’s sign, take a right to exit the Mall, right onto Rte. 113, right onto Rte. 2 North, and then resume regular route. 

Eastbound trips will travel the regular route to Rte. 2 South, left at intersection of Rte #113 U-turn to Rte #2 North, right entrance to RI Mall, take the first right after the Chuck E. Cheese, take a left, travel to the temporary bus stop at the Wendy’s sign, take a right to exit the Mall, left onto Rte. 113, and then resume regular route.
