RIPTA Passengers Encouraged to Participate in Onboard Passenger Survey to Gather Important Travel Data

🗓️ September 24, 2021 - Data Collected by Survey Staff Will Help RIPTA Better Serve Passengers and Gather Important Travel Information About Public Transit Use in Rhode Island The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is launching an onboard passenger survey next week as it works to gather detailed data to help the transit authority improve current service and plan future routes that best meet the public’s needs.

RIPTA to Detour Twenty-One Routes in Providence To Accommodate the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk On Sunday, October 17, 2021

🗓️ September 27, 2021 - The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour twenty-one bus routes in the downtown Providence area on Sunday, October 17, 2021, in order to accommodate the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Routes 1, 3, 4, 17, 19, 21, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 50, 55, 78, 92 will be detoured from 8:15AM to 1:30PM.

RIPTA Service Will Operate Holiday Schedule on Monday, October 11, 2021, for Columbus Day Holiday

🗓️ September 29, 2021 - RIPTA Administrative Offices Will Be Closed on the Holiday The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will run a Sunday/Holiday service schedule for all fixed-route and paratransit service on Monday, October 11, 2021 for the Columbus Day Holiday. All RIPTA offices will be closed on the Monday holiday.

RIPTA to Detour Sixteen Routes in Providence To Accommodate the Gloria Gemma 5k On Sunday, October 3, 2021

🗓️ September 30, 2021 - The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour sixteen bus routes in the downtown Providence area on Sunday, October 3, 2021 in order to accommodate the Gloria Gemma 5K. Routes 1, 30, 33, 34, 35, 51, 54, 60, 72, 78, 92 and the R-Line will be detoured from 9:30am to 1pm.

🗓️ October 4, 2021 - Hearings Will Be Held in Three Communities for Proposed Changes That Would Take Effect in January 2022 The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is seeking public input as it considers service changes, including many improvements for passengers, for January 2022.

RIPTA To Detour Nine Bus Routes In Pawtucket On Friday, October 15, 2021, To Accommodate Hispanic Heritage Month Festival

🗓️ October 14, 2021 - Buses will not stop at the Pawtucket Transit Center between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour seven Pawtucket-based bus routes traveling on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm to accommodate the Hispanic Heritage Month Festival in Pawtucket.

🗓️ October 26, 2021 - Detour will be in effect from 8:45am until 12pm The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour six bus routes in the Pawtucket area on Thursday, November 25, 2021 in order to accommodate the Turkey Trot 5K. Bus routes 1, 71, 72, 75, 78, and R-Line will be detoured from 8:45am to 12pm.

🗓️ October 27, 2021 - Free Bus Service for All Local Veterans on Veterans Day and to WaterFire – A Salute to Veterans on November 6 The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will offer free service on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, 2021, to all Rhode Island veterans with proof of eligibility.

🗓️ October 27, 2021 - RIPTA Offices Will Be closed on Thursday, November 25 The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will operate all fixed-route services on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Thursday, November 25, 2021, in observance of Thanksgiving Day, an official state holiday. RIPTA Offices All RIPTA offices will be closed on the Thanksgiving holiday.
