This service provides subscribers with information about detours, temporary service disruptions and service changes on the routes they ride. Click here to sign up for route-specific email alerts. Restoration Worship Ministries Summerfest: Saturday, August 9
Route 1 will be on detour from 10am to 3pm. Southbound trips will travel regular route to Eddy and Aldrich Streets, turn right onto Aldrich St., left onto Broad St. and then resume regular route. Northbound trips will travel regular route to Broad St., continue on Broad St., turn right onto Aldrich St., left onto Eddy St. and then resume regular route.
RIPTA will detour Routes 6, 20, 22, and the R-Line on Saturday, August 9, 2025, all day and night to accommodate AS220’s Annual Foo Fest. Empire Street will be closed during this time.
Route 6 (Prairie/Roger Williams Park Zoo):
Inbound trips will travel the regular route.
Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop C, turn left onto Dorrance Street, right onto Weybosset Street and then resume regular route.
Route 20 (Elmwood Ave./T.F. Green Airport):
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broad Street and Dave Gavitt Way, turn left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway, right onto Empire Street, left onto Fountain Street, and then resume regular route.
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Empire and Washington Streets, continue on Washington Street, turn left onto Service Road, right onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.
Route 22 (Pontiac Avenue):
Please refer to the Route 20 (Elmwood Ave./T.F. Green Airport) detour.
R-Line (Broad/North Main):
Please refer to the Route 20 (Elmwood Ave./T.F. Green Airport) detour.
Dominican Parade: Sunday, August 10
Route 6 and the R-Line will be on detour from 8am to 1pm.
Route 6:
Inbound trips will leave Broad City line, turn right onto Eddy St., left onto Thurbers Ave., right onto Prairie Ave. and then resume regular route.
Outbound trips will travel regular route to Prairie and Thurber Avenues, left onto Thurbers Ave., right onto Eddy St. through to Broad City line. Route 6 Outbound will not service the Zoo; Outbound trips will end at the Broad St. Terminus.
R-Line:
Inbound will travel regular route to Broad and Eddy Streets, turn right onto Eddy St., left onto Potters Ave., right onto Broad St. and then resume regular route.
Outbound trips will travel regular route to Broad St. and Potters Ave. turn left onto Potters, right onto Eddy St. through to Broad St. and then resume regular route.
East Greenwich Main Street Stroll: Thursday, August 21
Routes 14 and 16 will be detoured from 5pm to 8pm.
Route 14:
Outbound trips will travel regular route to Main and Division Streets, turn right onto Division St., left onto Kenyon Ave., left onto Cedar Ave., right onto Post Rd., and then resume the regular route.
Reverse on Inbound.
Route 16:
Outbound trips will travel regular route to Division St. and Kenyon Ave., turn right onto Kenyon Ave., left onto Cedar Ave., right onto Post Rd., and then resume the regular route.
Reverse on Inbound.
Hispanic Heritage Festival: Saturday, September 13
Route 17 will be on detour from 4pm to 9pm; Pocasset Ave. will be closed during this time.
Outbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Pocasset Ave. and Webster Ave., turn right onto Webster Ave., left onto Plainfield St., left onto Union Ave., right onto Pocasset Ave. and then resume regular route.
Reverse on Inbound.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) will temporarily close a section of Oaklawn Avenue at the Route 37 overpass in Cranston during late evening and overnight hours. The closures will take place Sunday through Thursday nights, for the next two to three weeks, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM each night so RIDOT can begin bridge demolition work.
Route 30 will be on detour for the next few weeks from Sundays through Thursdays. Only the following trips are affected:
Outbound departing at 9:10 PM from Kennedy Plaza.
Inbound departing at 9:23 PM from CCRI Warwick.
Route 40 is not serving the front door of Butler Hospital until further notice.
Passengers will board and exit the bus on Blackstone Boulevard.
Route 60: RIPTA will detour Route 60 (Providence/Newport) to accommodate the closing of the Mount Hope Bridge for repaving.
The detour will begin at 7pm on Thursday, August 14 and continue through Sunday, August 17, 2025.
During this time, Route 60 not travel over the bridge.
Click here for the temporary Route 60 schedule. Passengers are advised to plan accordingly as service will be drastically reduced.
Route 60 will not provide direct service between Providence and Newport while the bridge is closed.
Passengers who need to travel between Providence and Newport should use Route 14 (West Bay) or Route 24L (Newport/Fall River/Providence).
RIPTA will offer supplemental express trips on Route 14 after 7pm while the bridge is closed.
Route 61x: RIPTA will detour Route 61x on Friday, August 15 to accommodate the closing of the Mount Hope Bridge for repaving.
Route 61x Inbound will travel regular route to the Fish Road Park & Ride, Portsmouth Park & Ride and then travel express to Providence; reverse on Outbound. It will not serve Warren, Bristol or Barrington on Friday, August 15.
Route 66 will be on detour starting on Friday, May 2, 2025 until further notice. The I-95 North on-ramp from East Ave. will be closed to traffic. After stopping at CCRI Knight Campus, Inbound trips will continue on East Ave. to Main Ave., continue on Main Ave. to Post Rd., turn left onto Post Rd., continue to T.F. Green Airport and then resume the regular route. Outbound is on the regular route.
Routes 72 and 75 will be detoured on weekdays only, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM from August 4 through August 15, 2025 due to construction on Lonsdale Ave.
Route 72 Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Dexter St. and Rand St., turn left onto Rand St., left onto Lonsdale Ave., right onto Weeden St. and resume the regular route.
Reverse on Outbound.
Route 75 Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Dexter St. and Hunt St., turn right onto Hunt St., left onto Broad St., left onto Chambers St., right onto Lonsdale Ave. and resume the regular route.
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Lonsdale Ave. and John St., turn left onto John St., right onto Broad St., right onto Hunt St., left onto Dexter St. and resume the regular route.
RIPTA will detour Route 92 every Saturday from 3 pm to 12 am to accommodate outdoor dining on Federal Hill. The detour will begin Saturday, June 14 and last through September 6, 2025.
The following detour will be in effect every Saturday from 3:00 pm until 12:00 am beginning Saturday, June 14, 2025:
Route 92 (RI College/Federal Hill/East Side):
Eastbound trips (Inbound) will travel regular route to the intersection of Atwells and Harris Avenues, turn right onto Harris Avenue, left onto Broadway and then resume regular route.
Westbound trips (Outbound) will travel regular route to Service Road 7, turn left onto Service Road 7, right onto Broadway, right onto Harris Avenue, left onto Atwells Avenue and then resume regular route.
Our Lady of the Rosary Church Procession: Friday, August 8 – Sunday, August 10
Route 92 will be detoured from 8:10pm to 9pm on Friday, 6:10pm to 7pm on Saturday, and 2pm to 2:30pm on Sunday.
Eastbound trips will travel the regular route to Point St. and South Water St., turn right onto South Water St., left onto India St. through to Gano St., left onto Wickenden St., right onto Ives St. and then resume the regular route.
Westbound trips will travel the regular route to Ives St. and Wickenden St., turn left on Wickenden St., right onto Gano St. through to India St., right onto South Main St., left onto Point St. and then resume regular route.
