2024
A lot can happen in a year, from making history with the completion of the Northeast’s first in-line electric bus charging station to preserving history with the renovation of the iconic East Side Tunnel. By partnering with organizations, legislators, and the McKee administration, RIPTA was able to accomplish great things like increasing our starting wage for drivers to $25.84, secure funding for infrastructure improvements to our buildings, and break ground on the Pawtucket-Central Falls Transit Center Passenger Facility.
With multiple projects already in the works, our 2025 is off to a strong start. And while we are excited to work on these projects in the new year, what we look forward to the most in 2025 is continuing to provide reliable and affordable public transit for Rhode Islanders.
