RIPTA’s Winter Service Changes To Take Effect Saturday, January 13, 2024

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will implement winter service changes effective Saturday, January 13, 2024. RIPTA makes regular service adjustments three times a year in response to seasonal changes and/or passenger use. RIPTA will make minor changes to Routes R-Line, 17, 23, 27, 28, 31, 40, 55, 56, 57, and 60.

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) announced that seven routes are on detour today, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, due to winter weather conditions. Routes 18, 27, 35, 55, 56, 64 and 88 are currently on detour.

RIPTA Raises Driver Starting Wage to $25.33 Per Hour

Board Approves Agreement with Driver Union The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) Board of Directors voted today to approve a collective bargaining agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Division 618 that would increase the starting driver wage from $21.71 per hour to $25.33 per hour. The new wage goes into effect this week.
