RIPTA TO DETOUR THREE ROUTES IN PROVIDENCE ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 9, 2014 TO ACCOMMODATE AS220′S ANNUAL FOO FEST

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour three routes in
Providence on Saturday, August 9, 2014 all day and night to accommodate AS220’s Annual Foo Fest.  Empire Street will be closed during this time.  Routes 20 (Elmwood Ave.), 22 (Pontiac Ave.) and the R-Line (Broad/North Main) will be detoured.

The following routes will detour all day and night on August 9, 2014:

R-Line (Broad/North Main):

Northbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broad and Franklin
Streets, left onto Franklin Street, right onto Washington Street, left onto Empire
Street, right onto Fountain Street, and then resume regular route.

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Empire and
Washington Streets, right onto Washington Street, left onto Service Road, right
onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.

Route 20 (Elmwood Ave.) and Route 22 (Pontiac Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Empire and
Washington Streets, right onto Washington Street, left onto Service Road, right
onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.
