ALERT: Due to the current COVID-19 public health crisis, many RIPTA Offices and transit centers are closed. Details >>

As of April 1, 2021, RIPTA will no longer sell paper fare products on board, online or at the Ticket Vending Machines in Kennedy Plaza and the Newport Transportation and Visitors Center. The farebox will continue to issue Transfers and Change Cards only until this Fall. These changes are part of our transition to Wave – RIPTA’s new smart fare collection system. Smart card or mobile app? The choice is yours! Click here for more information. RIPTA will continue to sell paper fare products at these locations during the transition period.

Full Fare (1 hour of unlimited rides) $2.00
Senior/Disabled Off-Peak $1.00
Route 24L $4.00
Day Pass (for unlimited travel until 2am next day) $6.00
Monthly Pass $70.00

Once you add value to your Wave account, the Wave reader will deduct $2 from your stored balance when you tap your card or scan your app when you board. The $2 fare entitles you to one hour of unlimited rides!
