Due to Tidewater Drive Bridge Closing, RIPTA to Install Temporary Bus Stops to Accommodate Route 3A Warwick Neck Service

Due to the closing of the Tidewater Drive Bridge in Warwick Neck for construction, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will install an inbound and outbound temporary bus stop to accommodate passengers. Route 3A Warwick Neck will now service new temporary bus stops at the intersection of Long Meadow and Tidewater Drives. RIPTA’s Route 3 (Warwick Ave.) will begin detouring to this new temporary stop on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Bridge construction is expected to last nine months.

The route will detour as follows:

Route 3A (Warwick Ave):
Inbound trips leaving Warwick Terminus (Warwick Neck & Barton Aves.) will travel via a right onto Meadow View Avenue, left onto Warwick Neck, right onto Samuel Gorton Avenue, left onto Tidewater Drive, left onto Long Meadow Drive, right onto Draper Avenue, right onto West Shore Road, and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips leaving Downtown Providence will operate regular route to West Shore Rd. then left onto Draper, left onto Longmeadow, right onto Tidewater, right onto Samuel Gorton, left onto Warwick Neck Ave. to Barton St.
