Routes 1, 33, 34, 35, 60, and 78 will be detoured from 8:30am until 11:30am in the downtown Providence area on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in order to accommodate the Monster Dash 5K Road Race. The East Side Tunnel will be closed during this time.

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit):

Northbound trips will travel regular route to Bus Stop I, then leave via Washington Street, continue on Waterman Street up College Hill and then resume regular route.

Southbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Thayer and Angell Streets, turn right on Angell Street, continue through to Steeple Street, turn left onto Memorial Boulevard, right on Fulton Street to Bus Stop D and then resume regular route. Passengers will be picked up and dropped off on Angell Street at the corner of Thayer Street.

Route 33 (Riverside):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Angell Street, continue on Angell Street through to Steeple Street, and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop H via Washington Street, continue on Waterman Street up College Hill and then resume regular route.

Route 34 (East Providence/Seekonk Square):

Please refer to the Route 33 (Riverside) detour.

Route 35 (Rumford/Newport Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Angell Street, continue on Angell Street through to Steeple Street and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop H, turn left onto Exchange Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard, continue onto I-95 South through to I-195 East, and then resume regular route.

Route 60 (Providence/Newport):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to I-195 West, continue onto I-95 North, turn right at the Downtown Exit, right onto Francis Street, and then left onto Exchange Terrace to Bus Stop Y.

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop Y, turn left onto Exchange Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard to the I-95 South on-ramp, continue onto I-195 East, and then resume regular route.

Route 78 (Beverage Hill Ave./East Providence):

Please refer to the Route 35 (Rumford/Newport Ave.) detour.

Hispanic Heritage Festival: Saturday, September 13

Route 17 will be on detour from 4pm to 9pm; Pocasset Ave. will be closed during this time.

Outbound trips will travel regular route to the intersection of Pocasset Ave. and Webster Ave., turn right onto Webster Ave., left onto Plainfield St., left onto Union Ave., right onto Pocasset Ave. and then resume regular route.

Reverse on Inbound.

North Providence Village Festival: Friday, September 12 – Sunday, September 14

Routes 27 and 57 will be on detour from Friday, September 12 at noon through Sunday, September 14 at 11pm.

Route 27 Inbound leaving Centerdale will turn left onto Mineral Spring Ave., right onto Brown Ave., left onto Angell Ave., right onto Ferncliff Ave., right onto Smith St. to the Centerdale rotary, continue onto Woonasquatucket Ave. and then resume regular route. Outbound is on regular route.

Route 57 Inbound leaving Centerdale will turn left onto Mineral Spring Ave., right onto Brown Ave., left onto Angell Ave., right onto Ferncliff Ave., left onto Smith St. and then resume regular route. Outbound is on regular route.

Woonsocket Columbus Day Parade: Monday, October 13

Routes 54 and 87 will be on detour from 9am to 11:30am. Service to Walnut Hill will be suspended during this time.

Route 54 Inbound will turn left onto Worrell St., left onto Social St., continue onto Main St. and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel regular route to Clinton Street and then lay off at the Park & Ride lot (113 Clinton St.).

Route 87 Eastbound trips from Fairmont will travel regular route to Railroad St., turn right onto Main St., left onto Clinton St., lay off at the Park & Ride lot (113 Clinton St.), then turn left onto Worrell St., left onto Social St., continue onto Main St. and then resume regular route.

Westbound is on the regular route.

Route 56 will be on detour from September 8 through September 17, 2025 due to construction at the VA Hospital.

The VA Hospital bus stop will not be in service during this time.

Inbound and Outbound buses will stay on Chalkstone Ave. past the VA Hospital and resume the regular route. For service to and from the VA Hospital, please use the nearest bus stops on Chalkstone Ave.

Broadway Street Fair: Saturday, October 11

Routes 60, 63, 67 and 68 will be on detour from 8am to 6pm.

Routes 60 and 63: Inbound trips will travel regular route to Broadway and Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd., turn right onto Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd., right onto West Marlborough St., and then resume regular route.

Reverse on Outbound.  

Routes 67 and 68: Inbound trips will travel regular route to Memorial Blvd. and Bellevue Ave., turn right onto Bellevue Ave., continue onto Touro St. through to Washington Square, turn left onto Thames St., right onto Memorial Blvd. and then continue to the Newport Transportation Center.

Outbound trips will leave the Newport Transportation Center, turn right onto America’s Cup Ave., left onto Marlborough St., right onto Thames St., left onto Washington Square, continue onto Touro St. through to Bellevue Avenue, and then resume regular route.

Route 66 will be on detour starting on Friday, May 2, 2025 until further notice. The I-95 North on-ramp from East Ave. will be closed to traffic. After stopping at CCRI Knight Campus, Inbound trips will continue on East Ave. to Main Ave., continue on Main Ave. to Post Rd., turn left onto Post Rd., continue to T.F. Green Airport and then resume the regular route. Outbound is on the regular route.

Wickenden Area Merchants Association Festival: Saturday, September 27

Route 92 will be on detour from 8am-7pm.

Eastbound trips will depart Bus Stop J via Washington St., turn right onto Memorial Blvd., continue onto Dyer St. through to Eddy St., turn left onto Point St., right onto South Water St., left onto India St., right onto Gano St., left onto Wickenden St., right onto Ives St., left onto Trenton St., left onto Governor St., left onto Wickenden St. left onto Ives St. and then resume regular route.

Westbound trips departing Riverview Place will travel regular route to Ives and Wickenden Streets, turn left onto Wickenden St., right onto Gano St., right onto the I-195 West on-ramp, right at the South Main Street exit, left onto Point Street and then resume regular route.
