RIPTA To Detour R-Line (Broad/North Main) Southbound Thursday, August 6, 2020 – January 1, 2021 Due to Construction on Main Street Bridge

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Southbound trips on the R-Line (Broad/North Main) to accommodate construction on the Main Street Bridge over I-95 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is replacing bridge joints, repairing the deck, sidewalks and railings, and repaving the bridge as part of other infrastructure work in the Pawtucket and Providence area.

The detour will begin on Thursday, August 6, 2020 and will last until January 1, 2021.  The R-Line will not serve bus stops on Main Street between Quincy Avenue and Slater Street.   

The detour will be as follows:  

R-Line (Broad/North Main):

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to Main Street and Quincy Avenue, right onto Quincy Avenue, left onto Slater Street, right onto Main Street and then resume regular route.

Northbound trips will travel the regular route.
