9:15 AM – UPDATE RIPTA TO DETOUR FIVE ROUTES DUE TO WINTER STORM ON JANUARY 30, 2018

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) announced that five routes are on detour today, Tuesday, January 30, 2018 due to winter weather conditions. Routes 14, 27, 29, 49, and 71 are currently on detour. Riders may expect some delays on all routes due to weather conditions and are advised to use extreme caution at bus stops due to decreased visibility and slippery conditions.

The safety of our employees and passengers is RIPTA’s top priority. RIPTA apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for the public’s understanding as we work hard to maintain service during this storm.

The following routes are on detour:

Route 14 (West Bay):

Service to the Park N’Ride lot at Rte. 1A and Rte. 138 suspended. Passengers will be picked up and dropped off at the bus shelter on the street.

Route 27 (Broadway/Manton):

Service to Hillcrest Apartments suspended.

Route 29 (Cowesset/Kent County):

Service on Hillside to Phoenix Hotel suspended. Trips will travel on Main Street, turn right onto Pleasant Street, left onto Highland Avenue, left onto Main Street and then resume regular route.

Route 49 (Camp Street/Miriam Hospital):

All morning trips have been suspended.

Route 71 (Broad St./Pawtucket Ave.):

All trips will terminate on Pawtucket Avenue in the former Job Lot Plaza. Trips will not service the Job Lot on Ann Mary Drive.
