RIPTA’s WINTER Service Changes to Take Effect SATURDAY, January 19, 2013

January 3, 2013

Press Releases

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will implement winter service changes effective Saturday, January 19, 2013.   RIPTA makes regular service adjustments three times a year in response to seasonal changes and/or passenger use.

These annual changes are minor and include trip time changes, as well as rescheduling for better on-time performance.   Other service changes include a new Route 65 Wakefield Express; express trips from Wakefield Mall will now be designated as Route 65.   This express service was formerly designated as Route 66.  In addition, all trips on Route 27 Broadway/Manton will now serve the Stop & Shop Supermarket on Manton Avenue.

Passengers are strongly encouraged to check new schedules for how service changes may affect them.  They may also pick up the leaflet entitled Winter Service Changes Effective January 19, 2013 that is available at Kennedy Plaza; the leaflet is also viewable online.  For schedules and more information, passengers may call 401-781-9400, or visit www.ripta.com

27 Broadway/Manton

31 Cranston St./56 Chalkstone
