Newport Customer Service Kiosk to Remain Open Through December

Providence, Rhode Island…. Following a successful summer and fall season, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will conclude its “Hop-On Hop-Off” bus service promotion in Newport today, Friday, October 31, 2025. The free service, funded by Discover Newport and the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island, provided transportation to popular tourist destinations and beaches on Route 67 (Bellevue/Salve Regina Univ.) and Route 68 (CCRI/Memorial Blvd./First Beach).

Beginning tomorrow, Saturday, November 1, passengers will be required to pay the full fare on Routes 67 and 68.

The RIPTA Customer Service Kiosk at the Newport Transportation Center, which opened for the duration of the promotion, will remain open daily through December 31, 2025.

Additionally, public restrooms at the Newport Transportation Center, located at 23 America’s Cup Avenue, will remain open daily from 8 AM to 12 PM and 1PM to 4 PM through the end of the year. These facilities will stay open throughout the holiday season to better serve both visitors and residents.
