Bike to Work Month

2024 No Pollute Commute Bike to Work Challenge

Pedal like our climate depends on it! The 2024 No Pollute Commute Bike to Work Challenge encourages Rhode Islanders to reduce CO2 emissions in our state by commuting to work and school by bike instead of car. Are YOU up for the challenge?

This month-long Bike Challenge encourages Rhode Islanders to reduce carbon emissions by riding their bikes to work. It’s free to participate. Just sign up here, ride your bike, log your trips and see how you are making RI a greener state!  The more bike trips you record, the more chances you have to win!

There will be weekly winners and a grand prize winner.

New to Biking to Work?
You don’t have to be an experienced bike commuter to participate!

We’ve got Bike Buddies ready to help you feel comfortable commuting by bike.

Bike Buddies are bicycling enthusiasts who have volunteered to show newbies how to get started.

How do I connect with a Bike Buddy?

It’s easy! Create a profile on this site and then follow these directions:

  1. Go to the trip planner by selecting the “Find Rides” option.
  2. Choose the type of trip you’re looking for (Commute, Single Trip, or Events & Destinations).
  3. Enter your origin and destination. If you selected a commute trip, locations will be pre-filled with the information you entered in your profile.
  4. Select the “Bike route” mode.
  5. Select the “Buddies” option.
  6. You’ll now be able to see other members who are interested in being a Bike Buddy! Reach out to them directly and get pedaling.

Want to be a Bike Buddy?

We’re looking for volunteers to show newbies how to get started biking to work!
