Congratulations to RIPTA’s Jim Vincent – recent recipient of a prestigious Jefferson Award!
The Jefferson Awards honor people for extraordinary community service and we are so happy to see that recognition go to Jim Vincent, Director of Civil Rights compliance for RIPTA.
Jim is President of the Providence branch of the NAACP and a past president of the Rhode Island Urban League. He has also served on the boards of dozens of community organizations in the state including the Rhode Island Red Cross, the Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Adoption Rhode Island and the United Way.
“I was very humbled and very appreciative to be a recipient,” Vincent said of the Jefferson Award. This year’s award winners were honored at a special ceremony at the State House earlier this month.
“I feel like I’ve been given a lot of opportunities in life and it’s a debt I can never repay,” he said.
