What weighs more than six tons?

We’re hoping that the answer is this year’s contributions to our marathon, “Stuff A Bus” food drive to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.  The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is again partnering with Ocean State Job Lot and iHeartRadio for a 33-hour, “Stuff A Bus” Food-A-Thon at three Job Lot locations: Pawtucket, North Kingstown and Coventry.

The public is invited to help us “Stuff A Bus” by donating nonperishable food items such as canned goods and boxed cereal. RIPTA will be collecting food around the clock at the following Job Lot locations throughout the State and our iHeartRadio partners will be broadcasting live. It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit – especially since the need for donations at the Food Bank remains high this year. RIPTA will have buses parked at all three locations.  Please stop by and help us fill them up!

The Rhode Island Community Food Bank distributes food to people in needthrough a statewide network of 160 member agencies. These agencies include food pantries, meal sites, shelters, youth programs and senior centers. Each month, 57,000 struggling Rhode Islanders receive food assistance from these agencies.

The site locations, collection dates, and times for the Food-A-Thon are:
