RIPTA and Ocean State Job Lot to Host Annual Stuff A Bus Food Drive To Benefit the RI Community Food Bank On Friday, November 16 & Saturday, November 17

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is partnering with Ocean State Job Lot and iHeart Radio for their annual Stuff A Bus Food Drive to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.  The public is invited to help Stuff A Bus by donating nonperishable food items such as canned goods and boxed cereal. RIPTA will be collecting food at three Ocean State Job Lot locations in Rhode Island.

“RIPTA cares about the communities it serves and this is a great way to give back during the holiday season,” said Barbara Polichetti, Director of Public Affairs for RIPTA.  “We encourage people to participate and come see us at any one of the three Job Lot locations.  We appreciate having such great partners in this worthwhile effort.”

Friday, November 16: 6AM to 9PM

Saturday, November 17: 8AM to 3PM

5957 Post Road, North Kingstown, RI

1919 Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket, RI

Food donations will be collected in bins at all other Ocean State Job Lot locations in Rhode Island November 14 – 19. At last year’s Stuff a Bus Food Drive, RIPTA collected 8,391 pounds of food (nearly 4 tons). Every dollar enables the Rhode Island Community Food Bank to acquire 3 pounds of healthy food.
