RIPTA and RIDOT to Host Virtual and In-Person Public Meetings on Proposed RIPTA Service Changes in Downtown Providence

In-Person Meeting Scheduled for March 21 at 6:30pm

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) and the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) continue to host public meetings on proposed changes to bus service in downtown Providence.  The first virtual meeting was held on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

The next virtual meetings will be held on Tuesday, March 8 at 12pm and 6pm.  At the request of riders, an in-person meeting will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at the Cambridge Innovation Center at 225 Dyer Street in Providence at 6:30pm.

RIPTA and RIDOT will focus on the development of a new transit center on Dorrance Street. These public meetings are an opportunity for the public to submit their input on the development of this new transit facility. Passengers are invited to view the proposed changes at RIPTA.com/TransitCenter and submit their feedback.

RIPTA will accept written feedback via RIPTA.com/TransitCenter, and a dedicated RIPTA voicemail, on the proposed changes through March 31, 2022.
