RIPTA INTRODUCES NEW PARK-N-RIDE LOT IN SMITHFIELD EFFECTIVE MONDAY, MAY 13, 2013

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA)’s Route 9 (Pascoag) and Route 27 (Broadway/Manton) will service the new Smithfield Park-N-Ride Commerce Lot beginning Monday, May 13, 2013.   This new Park-N-Ride lot replaces the Smithfield Commons Park-N-Ride Lot.   Per the request of Smithfield Commons property management, RIPTA will no longer serve the Smithfield Commons Park-N-Ride effective Monday, May 13, 2013.       

The new Smithfield Park-n-Ride Commerce Lot is located on Commerce Street behind the Rite Aid Pharmacy, 452 Putnam Pike, Smithfield, Rhode Island.  The Smithfield Park-N-Ride Commerce Street lot can be easily accessed using Commerce Street off of Putnam Pike.  This new Park-n-Ride is less than a quarter mile from the former location.

Route 9 (Pascoag) passengers are strongly encouraged to check the schedule for new trip times.  Route 27 (Broadway/Manton) trip times will remain the same.  For schedules and more information, passengers may call 401-781-9400.
