RIPTA Service to Run Holiday Schedule in Observance of Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2019

October 15, 2019

Press Releases

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will operate all fixed-route services on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Thursday, November 28, 2019 in observance of Thanksgiving Day, an official state holiday.

Photo ID and Ticket Sales Offices Closed on November 28

All RIPTA offices, including the Ticket Sales Window in Kennedy Plaza, will not be staffed on the Thanksgiving holiday.  The Ticket Sales Window will reopen on Friday, November 29 at 7am.  The Photo ID Office in Kennedy Plaza will reopen on Monday, December 2, 2019.

RIde, Flex and Kingston Connection

The statewide RIde Program will operate only ADA trips on Thursday, November 28, 2019.  All Flex Services will not operate on Thanksgiving Day. The Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) and the RIde reservation line (461-9760) will not be staffed on Thursday.

Since ridership at the University of Rhode Island dramatically decreases during the Thanksgiving weekend, RIPTA will run limited service on Route 210 Kingston Flex Service on Friday, November 29. Full Route 210 Kingston Flex Service will resume Saturday, November 30.

The Walmart Cranston Shopper Route

The Walmart Cranston Shopper (formerly known as the Route 30 Brewery Parkade Shuttle), which normally operates only on Thursdays, will operate on Wednesday, November 27 instead.
