RIPTA to Detour 15 Routes in Providence to Accommodate the Amica Ironman 70.3 on Sunday, July 8, 2012

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour fifteen bus routes in the Providence area on Sunday, July 8, 2012 in order to accommodate the Amica Ironman 70.3 event. The detours are in effect from the first trip of the day until 6:00pm; some detours will end at 4:00pm.

The following routes will detour from the first trip of the day until 6:00pm (unless noted)

Route 33 (Riverside) Detour ends at 4:00pm

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will travel the regular route on I-195 West to I-95 North, right at the Downtown Exit, right at onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street and then continue to Kennedy Plaza.

Outbound: Trips leaving Providence will travel via a left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street, left onto the I-95 South on-ramp, right onto the I-195 East on-ramp, and then resume its regular route.

Route 34 (East Providence) Detour ends at 4:00pm

Route 35 (Rumford/Newport Avenue) Detour ends at 4:00pm

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will travel the regular route to Angell and Gano Streets, left onto Gano Street, right onto 195 West on-ramp to I-95 North, right at the Downtown Exit, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, and then continue to Kennedy Plaza.

Outbound: Trips leaving Providence will travel via a left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street through to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street to Wickenden Street, left onto Governor Street, right onto Waterman Avenue and then resume regular route.

Route 42 (Hope Street) Detour ends at 4:00pm

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will travel the regular route to Hope Street and Doyle Avenue, right onto Doyle Avenue, right onto North Main Street, left onto Branch Avenue, left onto the I-95 South on-ramp, take the Downtown Exit to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Exchange Street to Bus Stop H.

Outbound: Trips leaving Providence will travel via a left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street, left onto the I-95 North on-ramp, right at the State Office exit, left onto Orms Street, left onto Charles Street, right onto Randall Street through to Doyle Avenue, left onto Hope Street, and then resume its regular route.

Route 50 (Douglas Avenue)

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will follow the regular route to Douglas and Chalkstone Avenues, left onto the 146 South on-ramp to I-95 South, right at the Downtown Exit to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street and then travel to the regular stop.

Outbound: Trips leaving Providence will travel via a left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street, left onto the I-95 North on-ramp, right at the State Office exit, right onto Orms Street, and then resume its regular route.

Route 52 (Branch Avenue)Detour ends at 4:00pm

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will travel regular route to Charles and West River Streets, left onto West River Street through to Branch Avenue, right onto Branch Avenue, right onto the I-95 South on-ramp, right at the Downtown Exit through to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Exchange Street, and then continuing to its regular stop.

Outbound: Trips leaving Providence will travel via a left onto Washington Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street, left onto the I-95 North on-ramp, right at the State Office exit, left onto Orms Street, left onto Charles Street, and then resume its regular route.

Route 54 (Woonsocket)Detour ends at 4:00pm

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will travel the regular route to Charles Street and Branch Avenue, left onto Branch Avenue, right onto the I-95 South on-ramp, right at the Downtown Exit to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, and then travel to the regular stop.

Trips leaving Twin River will travel via the Rte. 246 exit, right at the Rte. 246 exit through to Charles Street, left on the on-ramp to Rte. 146 North and then resume regular route.

Route 55 (Admiral Street)

Route 56 (Chalkstone Avenue)

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will travel the regular route to Chalkstone Avenue and Raymond Street, right onto Raymond Street through to Dean Street, left onto Atwells Avenue, left at LaSalle Square, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street and then arrive at the regular stop.

Outbound:Trips leaving Providence will travel via Washington Street, left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace through to West Exchange Street, right onto Dean Street through to Raymond Street, left onto Chalkstone Avenue and then resume regular route.Route 57 (Smith Street)

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will travel the regular route to Smith and Raymond Streets, right onto Raymond Street through to Dean Street, left onto Atwells Avenue, left at LaSalle Square, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street and then arrive at the regular stop.

Route 60 (Newport)Detour ends at 4:00pm

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will travel the regular route on I-195 West to I-95 North, right at the Downtown Exit through to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Exchange Street, and then travel to the regular stop.

Outbound: Trips leaving Providence will travel via a left onto Washington Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street, left onto the I-95 South on-ramp, right onto the I-195 East on-ramp, and then resume its regular route.

Route 72 (Weeden/Central Falls)Detour ends at 4:00pm

Route 78 (Beverage Hill)

Route 92 (Green Line Trolley) Detour ends at 4:00pm

East Side to Kennedy Plaza:

Trips leaving the East Side will travel the regular route to Wickenden and Brook Streets, continue on Wickenden Street through to Point Street, right onto East Franklin Street, right onto Weybosset Street and then resume regular route.

Kennedy Plaza to East Side:

Trips travelling to the East Side will leave via a left onto Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street through to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street through to Wickenden Street and then resume regular route.

Route 99 (Providence/Pawtucket) Detour ends at 4:00pm

Inbound: Trips traveling into Providence will travel the regular route to North Main Street and Branch Avenue, right onto Branch Avenue, left onto the I-95 South on-ramp, right at the Downtown Exit to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, and then continuing to the Broad Street stop.

Outbound: Trips leaving Providence will travel via a left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace, right onto Francis Street, left onto the I-95 North on-ramp, right at the State Office exit, left onto Orms Street, left onto Charles Street, right onto Randall Street, left onto North Main Street and then resume its regular route.
