The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour eight bus routes in Providence to accommodate filming for X-Factor, a reality TV Show. The detours will be in effect beginning with the first trip of the day on Tuesday, May 8th through the last trip on Friday, May 11th. Sabin Street will be closed during this time.
The following route detours will be in effect on Tuesday, May 8th – Friday, May 11th:
Route #9 (Pascoag): Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Dean Street, take a right onto Dean Street, left onto Atwells Avenue, right onto LaSalle Square, left onto Fountain Street and then resume regular route.
Outbound tripswill travel the regular route.
Route #13 (Arctic/Washington):
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to I-95 North, take Exit #21 Broadway, right onto Broadway, right onto LaSalle Square through to Empire Street, and then resume regular route.
Outbound tripswill travel the regular route.
Route #14 (West Bay):
Please refer to the Route 13 (Arctic/Washington) detour.
Route #27 (Broadway/Manton Ave.)
Inbound trips will travel the regular route.
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, right onto Franklin Street, left onto Broadway, and then resume regular route.
Route #28 (Broadway/Hartford Ave):
Please refer to the Route #27 (Broadway/Manton Ave.) detour.
Route #66 (URI/Galilee):
Please refer to the Route 13 (Arctic/Washington) detour.
Route #90 Park-n-Rides:
Inbound tripswill travel the regular route to the intersection of Dorrance and Sabin Streets, continue on Dorrance Street, and then resume regular route.
Outbound trips leaving the Chopmist Hill Park-n-Ride will travel the regular route to the intersection of Exchange Terrace and Dorrance Street, left onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, right onto Franklin Street, left onto Broadway, and then resume regular route.
Route #92 Federal Hill/East Side
Inbound tripswill travel the regular route.
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, right onto Franklin Street, left onto Broadway, and then resume regular route.
