The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Routes 1, 3, 4, 51, 54, 58, 62 and 72 beginning at 6am on Wednesday, April 29 through 5pm on Thursday, May 7, 2020 to accommodate construction on the Downtown Transit Connector (DTC). 

The following detours will be in effect from 6am on April 29 through 5pm on May 7, 2020:

ROUTE 1 (EDDY/HOPE/BENEFIT):

Northbound trips from RI Hospital will turn right onto Eddy Street, left onto Blackstone Street, left onto Allens Avenue through to Eddy Street and then resume regular route. 

Southbound trips will travel the regular route.

ROUTE 3 (OAKLAND BEACH):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Blackstone Street, turn right into RIPTA’s layover facility, left onto Eddy Street, left onto Blackstone Street, left onto Allens Avenue, continue through to Eddy Street and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.

ROUTE 4 (WARWICK AVE):

Please refer to the Route 3 (Oakland Beach) detour.     

ROUTE 51 (CHARLES ST/TWIN RIVER/CCRI):

Outbound trips will turn left onto Eddy Street, left onto Blackstone Street, left onto Allens Avenue, continue through to Eddy Street, and then resume regular route.

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

ROUTE 54 (LINCOLN/WOONSOCKET):

Please refer to the Route 51 (Charles St/Twin River/CCRI) detour.

ROUTE 58 (MINERAL SPRING/NORTH PROVIDENCE):

Please refer to the Route 51 (Charles St/Twin River/CCRI) detour.

ROUTE 62 (URI/PROVIDENCE STATION):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Eddy Street, turn right into onto Public Street, left onto ALlens Avenue, left onto Blackstone Street, right into RIPTA’s layover facility, left onto Eddy Street, left onto Blackstone Street, left onto Allens Avenue, continue through to Eddy Street and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.

ROUTE 72 (WEEDEN/CENTRAL FALLS):
