RIPTA TO DETOUR FOUR ROUTES IN PROVIDENCE ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 18, 2018 TO ACCOMMODATE AS220′S ANNUAL FOO FEST

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour the R-Line (Broad/North Main) in Providence on Saturday, August 18, 2018 all day and night to accommodate AS220’s Annual Foo Fest.  Empire Street will be closed during this time.  Routes 6, 20, 22 and the R-Line will be on detour.

The following route will detour all day and night on August 18, 2018:

Route 6 (Prairie/Roger Williams Park Zoo):

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop C, turn left onto Dorrance Street, right onto Weybosset Street and then resume regular route.

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

Route 20 (Elmwood Ave./T.F. Green Airport):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broad Street and Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway, left onto LaSalle Square, left onto Fountain Street, and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Empire and Washington Streets, continue on Washington Street, left onto Service Road, right onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.

Route 22 (Pontiac Avenue):

Please refer to the Route 20 (Elmwood Ave./T.F. Green Airport) detour.

R-Line (Broad/North Main):

Northbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broad Street and Dave Gavitt Way, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway, left onto LaSalle Square, left onto Fountain Street, and then resume regular route.

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Empire and Washington Streets, continue on Washington Street, left onto Service Road, right onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.
