The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) to accommodate the Thayer Street Art Festival Fete. The detour will be in effect from the first trip of the day until 8pm.  For more information on the stroll, visit http://www.thayerstreetdistrict.com.

The following detour will be in effect on Sunday, September 20, 2015:

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) 5AM to 2PM:

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Hope and Doyle Streets, right onto Doyle Street through to Randall Street, left onto Charles Street, right onto Orms Street, right onto Douglas Avenue, right onto the Rte. 146S on-ramp, travel through to I-95S, right at the Atwells Exit, left onto Atwells Avenue, left onto Broadway, right onto Empire Street, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto  Washington Street, right onto Exchange Street, and then right onto Fulton Street to Bus Stop C.  Trips will then turn left onto Dorrance Street, right onto Weybosset Street, left onto Chestnut Street, left onto Point Street, right onto Richmond Street, right onto Eddy Street, and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route from Warwick to RI Hospital, then turn left onto Eddy Street, left onto Richmond Street, right onto Weybosset Street, left onto Dorrannce Street, and then right onto Washington Street to Bus Stop H.

Trips will then turn left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace continuing onto Sabin Street, right onto Atwells Avenue, right onto the I-95N on-ramp, right at the State Offices Exit, left onto Orms Street, right onto Charles Street through to Canal Street, left onto Washington Street into the East Side Tunnel, and then resume regular route.

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) 2PM to 8PM:

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Hope and Thayer Streets, turn left  onto Hope Street, right onto Angell Street, left onto Thayer Street and then resume regular route.

Northbound trips will travel the regular route.
