The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in order to accommodate Cyclovía Providence. The detour will be in effect from 11:00am until 5:00pm. Hope Street will be closed between 9th Avenue and Rochambeau Avenue for this event. Cyclovía Providence is a car-free event that opens Providence streets to people so that they can walk, skate, run, bicycle, exercise, and socialize. The following route will be detoured on Sunday, September 7, 2014:

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit):
Northbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Rochambeau Avenue and Hope Street, right onto Rochambeau Avenue, left onto Elmgrove Avenue, left onto Blackstone Boulevard, right onto Hope Street, and then resume regular route.

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Hope Street and Blackstone Boulevard, left onto Blackstone Boulevard, right onto Elmgrove Avenue, right onto Rochambeau Avenue, left onto Hope Street, and then resume regular route.
