The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) to accommodate the Hope Street Winter Stroll. The detour will be in effect beginning at 3:00pm on Thursday, December 4 until 8:30pm that night.

The following detour will be in effect on December 4, 2014:

Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit):

Northbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Hope Street and Rochambeau Avenue, right onto Rochambeau Avenue, left onto Elmgrove Avenue, right onto Blackstone Boulevard, left u-turn to Blackstone Boulevard, right onto Hope Street, and then resume regular route.

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to Hope Street and Blackstone Boulevard, left onto Blackstone Boulevard, right onto Elmgrove Avenue, right onto Rochambeau Avenue, left onto Hope Street, and then resume regular route.

RIPTA, the State’s Mobility Manager, operates over 3,000 daily bus trips on 54 bus routes throughout the state. Last year, we provided 20.5 million rides. RIPTA also offers passenger van “Flex” services in areas not served by fixed-route bus service.
