The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 55 (Admiral/Prov College) on Saturday, October 20, 2012 in order to accommodate the Providence College Friar 5K.   The detour will be in effect from 9:30am to 11:30am on October 20th.

 

The route will detour as follows:

Route 55 (Admiral/ Prov College)

Inbound: Trips into downtown Providence will travel the regular route to the intersection of Admiral Street and River Avenue, continue on Admiral Street, and then resume regular route.

Outbound: Trips leaving downtown Providence will travel regular route to the intersection of Admiral Street and Huxley Avenue, continue on Admiral Street, and then resume regular route.

RIPTA, the State’s Mobility Manager, operates over 3,000 daily bus trips on over 50 bus routes throughout the state.   Last year, we provided 20 million rides.  RIPTA also offers passenger van “Flex” services in areas not served by fixed-route bus service.  For more information on schedules or other RIPTA services, please call 401- 781-9400 or visit ripta.com.
