The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 14 (West Bay) and Route 64 (Newport/URI) on Saturday, April 4, 2015 in order to accommodate the Jamestown Bridge 10K Race.   The North Kingstown Route 138/1A Park N’ Ride lot will be closed from 7:00am – 11:00am; this location marks the start of the race.  In addition, ramps exiting Route 138 East and West will be closed at Route 1A.  The detours will be in effect from 7:00am – 11:00am.

The following routes will detour from 7:00am until 11:00am:

Route 14 (West Bay):

In Jamestown, RIPTA will not service Narragansett Avenue to North Main Road, North Main Road from Narragansett Avenue to Route 138 West, the Route 138/1A Park N’ Ride Lot, Boston Neck Road from the Park N’ Ride Lot to the intersection of Boston Neck Road and Phillips Street, and Phillips Street from Boston Neck Road to Route 1 and Route 102 (Ten Rod Road).

The 7:45am Outbound trip will leave Providence traveling the regular route to the intersections of Route 1 and Route 102 (Ten Rod Road), continue on Route 1 South, take a right onto the Route 138 East on-ramp, travel Route 138 East to the last exit before the Toll Plaza, right onto Service Road to Conanicus Avenue, Conanicus Avenue to Jamestown Ferry Landing, circle the landing, right onto Conanicus Avenue to Service Road to Toll Plaza, and then resume the regular route.

The 9:15am Outbound trip to Salt Pond Plaza will travel the regular route to the intersections of Route 1 and Route 102 (Ten Rod Road), continue on Route 1 South, take a left onto Route 138 East (at the Tower) through to Bridgetown Road, right onto Route 1 South (Boston Neck Road), and then resume the regular route.

The 10:53am Inbound trip from Salt Pond Plaza will travel the regular route.

Route 14 (West Bay) continued:

The 9:21am Inbound trip into Providence will travel the regular route to the Jamestown Ferry landing, circle the landing before taking a right onto Conanicus Avenue, right onto East Shore Road, left onto the Route 138 West on-ramp, continue on Route 138 West before taking a right onto Route 1 North, bear right at the Route 1 and Route 4 split, travel on Route 1 North to the intersections of Route 1 and Route 102 (Ten Rod Road), and then resume regular route.

Route 64 (Newport/URI):

RIPTA will not service the Route 138/1A Park N’ Ride Lot, Boston Neck Road from the Park N’ Ride Lot to the Bridgetown Road, and Bridgetown Road to Route 1. 

The 9:55am Outbound trip will travel the regular route to the Newport Bridge Toll Plaza, take the first right after the Toll Plaza, right onto East Shore Road, left onto Conanicus Avenue, circle the Jamestown Ferry Landing, right onto Conanicus Avenue, right onto East Shore Road, left onto the Route 138 West on-ramp, take a right onto the Route 1 Exit, right onto Route 1 to Route 1 South, right onto Route 138 West, and then resume regular route.

The 10:52am Inbound trip will travel the regular route.
