RIPTA to Detour Routes 50, 55, 56, and 57 to Accommodate the Southern New England Heart Walk On Sunday, June 7, 2015

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Routes 50 (Douglas Ave.) 55 (Admiral/Providence College), 56 (Chalkstone Ave.) and 57 (Smith St.) on Sunday, June 7, 2015 to accommodate the Southern New England Heart Walk.   The detours will be in effect from 7:30am to 10am; Francis Street will be closed during this time.

Routes 50 (Douglas Ave.) 56 (Chalkstone Ave.) will detour as follows:

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Smith Street, right onto Canal Street right onto Steeple Street through to Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, and then left onto Washington Street into Kennedy Plaza. 

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Washington Street, turn left onto North Main Street, left onto Smith Street and then resume regular route. 

55 (Admiral/Providence College) and 57 (Smith St.) will detour as follows:

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Smith Street, right onto Canal Street right onto Steeple Street through to Exchange Terrace, left onto Dorrance Street, and then left onto Washington Street and travel to the East Approach Trolley Pavilion.

Outbound trips will leave East Approach, turn right onto Exchange Terrace, left onto Exchange Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard, left onto Washington Street, left onto North Street.  Route 55 will continue on North Main Street and then resume regular route.  Route 57 will turn left onto Smith Street and then resume regular route.
