RIPTA TO DETOUR SIX BUS ROUTES IN PROVIDENCE ON SATURDAY, JULY 29, 2017 TO ACCOMMODATE CELEBRATE DOWNTOWN

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Routes 17, 18, 19, 31, 92 and the R-Line in Providence on Saturday, July 29, 2017 to accommodate the Celebrate Downtown Festival.   All routes will be detoured from 9:30am to 11pm. For more information on this event, visit http://artculturetourism.com/pvd-field-day-and-twilight-market/.

The following routes will be detoured on Saturday, July 29, 2017:

Route 17 (Dyer/Pocasset):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Washington Street, left onto Empire Street, right onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Dorrance Street, left onto Sabin Street, left onto Empire Street, right onto Washington Street and then resume regular route.

Route 18 (Union Avenue):

Please refer to the Route 17 (Dyer/Pocasset) detour.

Route 19 (Plainfield/Westminster):

Please refer to the Route 17 (Dyer/Pocasset) detour.

Route 31 (Cranston Street):

Please refer to the Route 17 (Dyer/Pocasset) detour.

Route 92 (RI College/Federal Hill/East Side) WILL DETOUR 8:30 AM – 12PM

Eastbound trips traveling on Empire Street will turn left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street and then resume regular route

Westbound trips will travel the regular route.

R-Line

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to Dorrance Street, turn right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Sabin Street, left onto Empire Street and then resume regular route.

Northbound trips will travel the regular route to Empire Street, turn right onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street and then resume regular route.
