RIPTA TO DETOUR SIX ROUTES DUE TO SNOWSTORM ON MONDAY, APRIL 4, 2016

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) announced that Routes 21, 27, 29, 55, 66, and 87 are currently on detour on Monday, April 4, 2016 due to the snowstorm. Riders may expect some delays on all routes due to weather conditions and are advised to use extreme caution at bus stops due to slippery conditions.

The safety of our employees and passengers is RIPTA’s top priority. RIPTA apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for the public’s understanding as we work around to maintain service during this storm.  

The following routes are on detour:

Route #21 – NO SERVICE TO CCRI

Route 27 (Broadway/Manton):

Service to Hillcrest Apartments suspended.

Route #29 – EAST BOUND BUSES WILL NOT USE HIGHLAND AVENUE: Regular Route to MAIN STREET, STAY on MAIN STREET to (R) PLEASANT, to (L) HIGHLAND, to (L) MAIN STREET, to REGULAR ROUTE; NO SERVICE TO CCRI – EAST BOUND, UPON LEAVING RI MALL BUSES WILL USE (R) EAST STREET/ROUTE 115, to (L) BALD HILL ROAD/ROUTE 2, to (L) TOLLGATE ROAD, to REGULAR ROUTE; WEST BOUND REVERSE ROUTE

Route 55 (Admiral/Providence College)

Service to Fatima Hospital suspended. Buses will terminate at Shaw’s Plaza. 

Route #66 – NO SERVICE TO CCRI

Route 87 (Fairmount/Walnut Hill)

Service to MORIN HEIGHTS suspended.

Service to Fairmount suspended.

Westbound buses will use the regular route to River, right onto Verry, right onto Harris through to Railroad, and then resume regular route. 

Buses will stay on Cass Avenue. Buses will terminate at Diamond Hill Plaza.
