The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour twenty-seven bus routes in the Providence area to accommodate the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.  Routes 3, 6, 19, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 42, 50, 52, 54, 55, 56, 57, 60, 66, 72, 78, 92, and 99 will be detoured beginning at 7:00am until 1:00pm on Sunday, October 6, 2013.   

The following detours will be in effect on Sunday, October 6, 2013:

Route 3 (Warwick Avenue):                                                                                                        

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Weybosset and Dorrance Streets, left onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, and then right into Kennedy Plaza to Bus Stop G.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route

Route 6 (Prairie/RW Zoo):        

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Bus Stop M.

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop M via Exchange Street right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 19(Plainfield/Westminster):                                                                                                        

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Washington Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, and then travel into Kennedy Plaza.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.

Route 20 (Elmwood Avenue):

Route 21 (Reservoir/Garden City):

Route 22 (Pontiac Avenue):

Route 27 (Broadway/Manton Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Service Road, left onto Broadway, and then resume regular route.

Route 28 (Broadway/Hartford Ave):

Please refer to the Route 27 (Broadway/Manton Ave.) detour.

Route 30 (Arlington/Oaklawn):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the Dean Street Exit, take a right onto the Dean Street Exit, left onto Atwells Avenue, left onto Broadway, right onto Empire Street, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Exchange Street, and then right into Kennedy Plaza to Bus Stop E.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Dorrance Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Empire Street, right onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 31 (Cranston Street):

Route 32 (East Providence/Wampanoag):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to I-195 West through to I-95 North, right at the Downtown Exit, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, and then left onto Washington Street to Kennedy Plaza.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Empire Street, right onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, left onto the I-95 South on-ramp through to I-195 East and then resume regular route.

Routes 33 (Riverside):

Routes 34 (East Providence):

Route 35 (Rumford/Newport Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Angell and Gano Streets, left onto Gano Street, right onto the I-195 West on-ramp through to I-95 North, right at the Downtown Exit, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, and then left onto Kennedy Plaza.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto  Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Empire Street, right onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, right onto the I-95 South on-ramp through to I-195 East, exit right at the India Street Exit, left onto India Street, right onto Gano Street, right onto Waterman Avenue and then resume regular route.

Route 42 (Hope Street):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Hope Street and Doyle Avenue, right onto Doyle Avenue, left onto North Main Street, right onto Smith Street, left onto Gaspee Street, left onto Francis Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Exchange Street, and then right into Kennedy Plaza to Bus Stop H.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Empire Street, right onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, right onto Gaspee Street, right onto Smith Street, left onto North Main Street, left onto Hope Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 50 (Douglas Avenue):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Empire Street, right onto Fountain, Street, left onto Francis Street and then resume regular route.

Route 52 (Branch Ave.):

Leaves from Bus Stop P

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Charles and Orms Streets, right onto Orms Street, right onto Douglas Avenue, right onto the Route 146 South on-ramp through to I-95 South, exit right at the Downtown Exit, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, and then left into Kennedy Plaza to Bus Stop P.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Empire Street, right onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, right onto Gaspee Street, right onto Smith Street, left onto Charles Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 54 (Lincoln/Woonsocket):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Charles and Orms Streets, right onto Orms Street, right onto Douglas Avenue, right onto the Route 146 South on-ramp, exit right at the Downtown Exit, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, and then left into Kennedy Plaza.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to right  Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Empire Street, right onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, left onto the I-95 North on-ramp, right at the State Offices Exit, left onto ORms Street, left onto Charles Street and then resume regular route. 

Route 55 (Admiral Street/Providence College):

Route 60 (Providence/Newport):

Leaves from Bus Stop P

Inbound trips into downtown Providence will travel regular route on I-195 West to I-95 North, take a right off the Exit 22 off-ramp, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, and then left onto Washington Street to Bus Stop P.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right empire, right fountain, left onto Francis Street, left onto I-95 South through to I-195 East and then resume regular route.

Route 66 (URI/Galilee):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Francis and Dorrance Streets, left onto Washington Street, right onto Exchange Street, and then left into Kennedy Plaza to Bus Stop D.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Dorrance Street, take a right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street to Service Road 7, continue on to the I-95 South on-ramp, and then resume regular route.

Route 72 (Weeden/Central Falls):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Charles and Orms Streets,  right onto Orms Streets, right onto Douglas Avenue, right onto the Route 146 South on-ramp through to I-95 South, right at the Downtown Exit, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, and then left into Kennedy Plaza to Bus Stop L.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Empire Street, right onto Fountain Street, left onto Francis Street, right onto Gaspee Street, right onto Smith Street, left onto Charles Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 78 (Beverage Hill):

Route 92 RI College/Federal Hill/East Side WEST:

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Kennedy Plaza to Bus Stop M.

Outbound trips to Eagle Square will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right Service Road, left onto Atwells Avenue, and then resume regular route.

Route 92 RI College/Federal Hill/East Side EAST:

Inbound trips leaving from East Side Market to Kennedy Plaza will travel the regular route to the intersection of Pitman and Gano Streets, left onto Gano

Street, right onto I-195 West through to I-95 North, right at the Downtown Exit, right onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, and then travel to Bus Stop M.

Outbound trips to East Side Market will leave via a right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street left onto Francis Street, left onto I-95 South through to I-195 East, right at the India Street Exit, left onto India Street, right onto Gano Street, right onto Pitman Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 99 (Providence/Pawtucket):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of North Main and Smith Streets, right onto Smith Street, left onto Gaspee Street, left onto Francis Street through to Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Exchange Street, and then right into Kennedy Plaza to Bus Stop F.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Exchange Street, right onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Empire Street, right onto Fulton Street, left onto Francis Street, right onto Gaspee Street, right onto Smith Street, left onto North Main Street, and then resume regular route.
