RIPTA TO EXTEND HOURS AT KENNEDY PLAZA INTERMODAL TRANSPORTATION CENTER DURING EXTREME COLD BEGINNING MONDAY, FEBRURARY 16, 2015

Due to extreme cold weather, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is extending the hours that its information center at the Kennedy Plaza transit hub will be open this week.

In order to give passengers a place to stay warm will waiting for their buses, the building will be open until 8 p.m. beginning Monday, February 16, and continuing through Friday, February 20, 2015. Normally the building closes at 7 p.m.

The hours for the ticket window will not be extended during this time, and the window will be staffed during its normal weekday hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

People seeking more information on warming centers in their local communities can check a list being compiled by the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) at www.riema.ri.gov.
