RIPTA TO RUN REGULAR SUNDAY SERVICE ON VETERANS DAY SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2012

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will operate all regular fixed-route services on the regular Sunday schedule on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, 2012. 

Route 210 Kingston Flex Service will run the regular weekend schedule.   The Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) will not be staffed on Sunday, November 11, 2012. All Flex Service will run on the regular schedule on Monday, November 12, 2012.

Although the State’s celebration of the Veterans Day holiday is on Monday, November 12th, RIPTA will run regular service for all routes and programs on that day.  RIde DEA-sponsored transportation, including senior medical appointments, adult daycare and nutrition sites, will not be affected.  The RIde office will be open on Monday during its regular hours and RIPTA ADA service will operate as usual.

RIPTA offices, including the Photo Identification and Ticket Sales Offices in Kennedy Plaza, will not be staffed on Sunday, November 11th.  The Photo Identification Office, Ticket Sales Office in Kennedy Plaza and the Flex Service reservation line will all be staffed on Monday, November 12, 2012. 

RIPTA, the State’s Mobility Manager, operates over 3,000 daily bus trips on over 50 bus routes throughout the state.   Last year, we provided 20 million rides.  RIPTA also offers passenger van “Flex” services in areas not served by fixed-route bus service.  For more information on schedules or other RIPTA services, please call 401-781-9400 or visit ripta.com.
