RIPTA’s FALL SERVICE CHANGES TO TAKE EFFECT SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2018

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will implement fall service changes effective Saturday, September 1, 2018. RIPTA makes regular service adjustments three times a year in response to seasonal changes and/or passenger use.

2018 Fall Service Changes

These annual changes are include trip time changes, route redesign, and the discontinuation of a three routes.

  • Route 9X will now service the new Citizens Bank Operations Center in Johnston during the week.
  • Route 62 has been redesigned to provide front door access to the Nursing Education Center (NEC), as well as provide service to Rhode Island Hospital.
  • Route 69, 70 and the 211 have been discontinued and will no longer provide service on the University of Rhode Island campus.

54 Lincoln/Woonsocket
60 Providence /Newport
62 URI/NEC/CCRI
64 Newport/URI
67 Bellevue/Mansions/Salve
69 Hillclimber
70 Engineering Shuttle
87 Fairmount/Walnut Hill
211 Ram Line

Passengers are strongly encouraged to check new schedules for how service changes may affect them. They may also pick up the leaflet entitled Fall Service Changes Effective September 1, 2018 that is available at Kennedy Plaza; the leaflet is also viewable online.
