UPDATED – SCHEDULE INFORMATION FOR PASSENGERS IN THE RIDE PROGRAM RESTORED – CUSTOMERS DO NOT NEED TO CALL IF THEY HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TODAY, MARCH 20, 2015

March 20, 2015

Press Releases

A computer problem that disrupted the RIde program operations at the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) has been resolved as of approximately 11: 15 a.m.

The computer issues had caused RIPTA to ask RIde passengers to call in to confirm scheduled trips for today (Friday, March 20, 2015).  That is no longer necessary as all data for today’s RIde trips have been restored.

RIPTA thanks ride passengers for their patience this morning and apologizes for any inconveniences. Starting in the early morning hours, RIPTA staff worked in earnest to try to resolve the problem and also put all available employees on the phones to try to help mitigate extended wait times for RIde clientele.

The RIde program is RIPTA’s paratransit service for people with disabilities and is provided in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
