Local Transportation Services

  • Transwick is for Warwick residents age 55+ who are living independently, as well as adults with disabilities living independently.
  • Transportation available to:
    • Pilgrim Senior Enrichment Center for meals, activities, social service support, appointments, and wellness programs.
    • Weekly errands such as grocery shopping, pharmacy, and banking.
    • West Bay Community Action for human services appointments.
    • Special destinations such as McDermott Pool or recreation trips (special pricing).
  • Transportation not available for doctor’s appointments / NEMT.
  • Banking and West Bay Community Action trips require a two week notice and are subject to availability.
  • All riders must be registered with the program. Online applications required before scheduling Transwick service.
  • Round trips cost $1.00.
    • Tokens may be purchased at the Pilgrim Senior Center or at the Stop & Shops on Warwick Ave and Bald Hill Road. Tokens are available in rolls of 20 for $10.00.
  • Call 401-738-1276 to schedule Transwick service.
    • To cancel a scheduled trip, call 401-738-1276 more than two hours in advance.
    • Leave a message including name, phone number, and the date and time of the cancelled ride.

Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) &
Elderly Transportation Program (ETP)

Medical Transportation Management (MTM) provides statewide transportation for Medicaid members and for all Rhode Islanders age 60+ for routine, non-emergency medical appointments. Trips must be scheduled at least two business days in advance and must occur Monday-Friday between 5 AM and 6 PM. Call 855-330-9131 to schedule.


RIPTA Services

Fixed-Route

Fixed-route buses operate along designated routes with specified stops. Information on these routes is provided by public schedules.

RIde Paratransit

RIde service is available through an application process for individuals whose disability prevents use of the fixed route system or prevents travel to or from bus stops. RIde operates within a 3/4-mile corridor on either side of a fixed route and costs $4 per trip. Learn more at RIde Paratransit Program – RIPTA or call 401-461-9760.

Vanpool

A vanpool is a shared mobility program where participants traveling on similar routes lease a vehicle and collectively decide their daily route, times, driving responsibilities, and stop locations. For information, contact RIPTA Commuter Resources: 401-784-9575 or commuter@ripta.com.

MBTA Commuter Rail

  • Providence-Stoughton Line: round-trip rail service from Boston to Pawtucket/Central Falls, downtown Providence, T.F. Green International Airport, and Wickford Junction.
    • MBTA does not operate to T.F. Green International Airport on weekends.
  • The T.F. Green InterLink facility is located at 700 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI 02886.
