Get a Wave Card – In Person

Wave cards can be purchased at the following locations for $5 activation fee:

  • 7-Eleven
  • Cumberland Farms
  • CVS
  • Shaw’s
  • Speedway
  • Stop & Shop
  • Walgreens
  • RIPTA Ticket Window at Kennedy Plaza: Open weekdays 8am – 3:30pm (closed 12pm-1pm)

Get a Wave Card – By Mail

Wave cards are also available by mail. To order a Wave card, visit wave.ripta.com, and then create a free account by clicking “Sign In” and “Register” in the top right. Once registered you can order a Wave card for $5 plus shipping. If you have any questions about creating your account or ordering a Wave card, email CustomerService@RIPTA.com, or call 401-784-9500 x2012.

Reload Your Wave Card – In Person

You can reload your Wave card with cash or a credit/debit card at:

  • 7-Eleven
  • Cumberland Farms
  • CVS
  • Dollar General
  • Family Dollar (cash only)
  • Shaw’s
  • Speedway
  • Stop & Shop
  • Walgreens
  • RIPTA Ticket Window at Kennedy Plaza: Open weekdays 8am – 3:30pm (closed 12pm-1pm)

Reload Your Wave Card – Online

Wave mobile app – Reload your Wave card via the Wave app (see “Download our app” in the menu bar).

Wave website – Visit wave.ripta.com to create an account or sign into your existing account. Once you’re logged in, you can add value to your Wave card.

RIde Paratransit Paper Fare

You can purchase RIde Paratransit paper fare in person at Stop & Shop or online at https://www.ripta.com/fares/.

Paper Fare Exchange Program

As of January 15, 2022, RIPTA no longer accepts paper fare products on board.

If you have unused fare products, you can transfer the value over to your new Wave account by filling out this form and then mailing your unused fare products to RIPTA.
