Visiting Newport just got easier with RIPTA’s bus service!
From historic mansions to the Tennis Hall of Fame to shopping on Thames Street and more, you can get around Newport on RIPTA’s classic green and gold hybrid trolley buses. Please board at a designated RIPTA bus stop. Click here for the Newport pocket map.
Stop by the seasonal RIPTA Customer Service Kiosk in the Newport Transportation Center to pick up free maps and schedules. The Kiosk is open daily between 8am -12pm and 1pm – 4pm (May 24 – October 31, 2024).
Route 67 connects you with popular tourist destinations such as the Newport Mansions, Cliff Walk, Audrain Automobile Museum, International Tennis Hall of Fame and more! Service runs every 20 minutes all day. Free bus service May 24 – October 31, 2024. Sponsored by Discover Newport.
Route 68 connects neighborhoods in the North End of Newport to local beaches. This route operates between Newport’s North End, Aquidneck Industrial Park and First Beach. Important destinations include Rolling Green, Bayside Village, Dept. of Human Services, First Beach, Cliff Walk, Newport Transportation Center, CCRI Newport and Miantonomi Memorial Park. Free bus service May 24 – October 31, 2024. Sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island.
231 Flex can take you to anywhere within the Flex Zone including the Easton’s Beach and the Cliff Walk – simply ask the driver to drop you off. To return to the Newport Transportation Center from the Cliff Walk, board RIPTA Route 67 at the south end of the Cliff Walk, at Bellevue Avenue and Ledge Road.
To use Flex Service, passengers can either make a reservation 24 hours in advance by calling 401-784-9500 ext. 1220 or boarding the Flex Vehicle at any of the scheduled Flex Stops within the Flex Zone. The fare structure for Flex is the same as RIPTA’s fixed-route bus service.
Heading to the airport? Ride Route 14 will connect you to T.F. Green Airport via Airport Interlink stop on Jefferson Boulevard. Passengers can then walk to the Airport terminal using the Skyway. This route will also connect you to CCRI Warwick and Providence.
Ready to leave the City by the Sea and explore the big city? Hop on Route 60 for travel to Downtown Providence.

Park your car in the Newport Gateway Center Parking Garage and let us do the driving! The parking garage is easily accessible by public transportation – and RIPTA riders pay only $5 for daily parking. Ask your bus driver for a RIPTA Rider Receipt to access the parking discount (available on green and gold trolleys only).
